Arun Valley

Wildlife Spotters

This is a new group, aimed at beginners and enthusiasts for birds, butterflies and dragonflies. The intention is to share what knowledge we have so we all can learn and improve our knowledge.

Meetings are held once or twice a month, mainly on a Tuesday or Thursday. We meet at sites in West Sussex, which offer a diversity of birds and in the summer, butterflies and dragonflies. The venue suggestions include Woods Mill, Burpham, Henfield, Burton Mill Pond, Ebernoe Common, Lancing Ring, Knepp Estate, Shoreham etc. Subsequent venues are discussed with the group to ensure everybody’s interest is met.

Meetings last approximately 2–2½ hours and involve walking 1-3 miles and usually start at 10am. Anyone with a pair of binoculars and enthusiasm for nature on the wing will enjoy the outings.

Please contact Cyndy for further information by clicking on the Co-ordinator Link. Look forward to hearing from you.

All these photos were taken in Sussex and offer a taste of the wildlife on the wing. The diversity is enormous and being close to the coast there is the excitement of returning wildlife in the Spring due to their migration and then finally departing in Autumn.

Wonderful!
