Led by Peter we meet monthly at 2pm in members’ homes on the fourth Monday

Opera is for everyone whether you are new to opera or a seasoned aficionado. You do not need to be an expert to enjoy our group. Of course, the more you know, the more there is to enjoy!

Opera is a diverse, enriching art form; increasing your knowledge and enjoyment of opera. No previous qualifications are necessary to attend and you are not required to sing! For many people opera is amongst the greatest and most intense pleasures that life has to offer. For others it is a dauntingly incomprehensible art form.

We believe that the pleasures of opera should be more accessible to all. There are no special requirements if you wish to attend other than the ability to enjoy good music.

We are at present looking at  the development of opera historically  by viewing one or two works by each major composer
